CCLA author Dr. Jeffery Renard Allen has been awarded a Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Residency in Italy for fall 2016.

Allen is the author of five books including the novels SONG OF THE SHANK (Graywolf, 2014), which was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, and a finalist for the 2015 PEN/Faulkner award. Professor of Creative Writing at University of Virginia (UVA), Allen is the recipient of a Whiting Writers’ Award, a grant in Innovative Literature from the Creative Capital Foundation, and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
